1969, Julie & Graham met on Kangaroo Island. Graham had already experience a fair bit of Australia, Julie made the mistake early of saying she would like to travel. 42 years later and they are still travelling, albeit with a little more comfort. |

Our very first serious tour. Travelled up the old north-south road to Alice Springs in a VW Kombi. These were the days when there was very little traffic and the road was all unsealed and rough. Followed the old Ghan railway line back south. |

Four years working 3 jobs, 7 days a week at Barrow Creek in the early 70's. Had a chance to visit some great outback places as we mixed with the locals. |

Dumped the idea of buying the triple fronted brick veneer house in favour of a cruising yacht. Our home for the family (there were four of us) for five year as we cruised and explored coastal Australia. Still considered some of the best years of our lives. | |

Lived a year in Tasmania on our yacht. Spent most weekends bush walking and camping. Living on the river through mid winter was a bit of a challenge but young, fit and active saw us through. |

Boys needed a real school and stability so purchased a corner store that we survived for 22 months. Very hard work and long hours but financially rewarding. |

Developed an office equipment/stationery business over 5 years. It eventually had to go when it was time to travel again. |

Julie wandering around the pottery market in Kathmandu. First visit to a 3rd world country was an eye opener. We hiked through the Annapurna Mountains. |

Another yacht, plans to head out into the pacific for some serious offshore sailing. All fell over when some health issues interrupted us. Lived on the yacht for five years restricted to coastal cruising. |

Always had motorcycles and had a desire to complete a serious road trip. Seven weeks on the Harley gave us a taste of a life we would embrace years later. |

Canoe expeditions saw us build a cedar strip canoe, do lots of short trips which culminated in a 10 day paddle down the most remote area of the Murray River. Canoe travel is so quiet and peaceful and camping on remote river beaches gives beautiful isolation from the hustle of society. |

After retirement spent 6 months travelling and camping out in the USA on a Russian built motorcycle and sidecar. It was fantastic ride. 22,500km through old America, following the 1960's routes and minor roads. Met so many great people and saw so many amazing places. |

Retirement wasn't the answer so started up a popcorn business travelling around the country shows and events. Brilliant business but too hard for people in their mid 60's. Sold out after a couple of years. |

Exploring the ancient city of Ephesus in Turkey. What an amazing country. |

Julie, first time on a horse since she was 18, once she was lifted into the saddle she performed well. Here we stayed with herders in remote Kyrgyzstan. |

Julie & Graham on their tour through remote Kyrgyzstan on a motorcycle/sidecar outfit that spent more time being fixed than ridden. Possible our most questionable adventure but some magnificent memories. |

Midnight sun on a 6 star cruise ship in the Arctic whilst travelling up the coast and into fiords of Norway. Our first "comfortable" holiday in 42 years of marriage. |
